How much does it cost to hire a container?
The price of renting a container is not a single fixed rate – it comprises several components that are tailored to a specific project. Understanding these components allows you to compare quotes on a level playing field, rather than looking solely at the price of the module itself.
The rental cost comprises: the module itself (type, size, range – Origin, Advance, Origin Plus or FireX), transport to the site, assembly and connection of the installation, fittings (air conditioning, furniture, IT network, sanitary facilities) and maintenance during the rental period. The duration of the contract is also significant – for longer leases, the monthly rate is often more favourable. A detailed quote is prepared by an adviser once the configuration has been finalised.

Algeco offers containers in four ranges, which differ in terms of finish, standard and range of configurations. Origin is a simple and cost-effective solution. What is the minimum rental period for a modular container?
The rental period depends on the type of project. For event-based or seasonal projects, a flexible contract is possible. The longer the rental period, the more favourable the monthly rate. We will discuss the details during a consultation with an advisor.
What is included in the container rental price – transport, assembly and dismantling?
Everything is listed on the order form. This document specifies, amongst other things, the rental price of the module itself, its fittings, as well as transport, assembly and other services (e.g. connection to the sewerage system and the electricity grid). The convenience for the customer is that all work is carried out by our teams and they receive a single invoice. The exact scope of services is determined on a case-by-case basis – please contact us via the quote enquiry form.
Can I rent a container on a trial before deciding on a long-term partnership?
Algeco offers flexible rental terms tailored to the needs of your project. If you need to test the functionality of a module before making a long-term decision, please contact one of our advisors – together we will establish terms of cooperation suitable for your project.
How fast can the delivery and installation of a rented container be arranged?
Provided the modules are in stock and the site is prepared (paved, with connections in place), delivery and installation can take place within a few working days. In special cases, express delivery is also possible. For non-standard configurations or special requirements, the lead time may be longer. We define on a precise schedule following an analysis of the project.
Is it possible to swap the container for a different model during the rental period?
It is possible to reconfigure and relocate the modules in line with the project’s progress; this requires consultation with an Algeco representative on each occasion. For dynamic projects where requirements change, it is also possible to alter the number of modules. The terms and conditions for such changes and project modifications are defined during consultation with our Advisor.
Do you need a permit to place a hire container?
This depends on the container’s intended use, the duration of its placement and its location. A container placed temporarily for the duration of works is usually subject to less stringent requirements than a structure placed permanently. As regulations can be interpreted differently depending on the local authority, it is advisable to check the formalities with the relevant authority before placing the container.
How long can you rent a container for?
Containers can be rented on both a short-term basis – for events, the summer season or one-off jobs – and on a long-term basis, for the duration of a construction project or as a permanent office. The minimum rental period depends on the type of project and the configuration; details are agreed with an advisor at the quotation stage.
